Empower Youth to Combat Anxiety

by Lee Richmond and Benjamin Allen

Anxiety is the number one health problem in America and it’s on the rise among school-aged youth.  As worry and fears grow, are they really unmanageable or can they be contained and controlled?  This workshop will present simple yet effective counseling strategies that empower youth to manage their anxious thoughts and feelings.  Participants will learn to recognize anxiety in each of its forms along with common causes and treatment methods.  In accordance with Lauryn’s Law, recommendations for both parents and teachers will be included.  Be ready to collaborate with other counselors in sharing familiar experiences and exploring fresh new ideas.
