Rapid Identity Assessment

Shorten and enhance the initial client interview using the Photo Metaphor Card Sort (PMCS). Help clients identify and explain their most important issues. Participants will learn to administer the PMCS and draw out client narrative. This fun and insightful tool and be used in most counseling settings from school through clinical, and in HR settings. Experiential activities in working with clients will provide training in the many ways to help clients to verbalize their inner wishes and dreams. Price of workshop includes a deck of cards and lunch.

Elda Schwartz is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Maryland. She specialized, with a post-master’s certificate, in Career Counseling from Oakland University, Michigan. Her work setting, both in Michigan and Maryland, was in community colleges, working with students and international students clarifying their academic and career goals.
Lee J. Richmond, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in the State of Maryland, a Professor Emerita at Loyola University Maryland, and previously taught at Johns Hopkins University. Her books include co-editor of Connections Between Spirit and Work, co-author of Soulwork: How to Find the Work You Love: How to Love the Work You Have, and What Brings You to Life?: Awakening Women’s Spiritual Essence.
Marilyn Maze, Ph.D., is a Principal of PsyCoun Consultants and the Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Career Development Association. She has organized the annual APCDA Conference since its inception, conducted numerous research projects on hot labor market and career counseling issues, and presented at international conferences. Dr. Maze is a Fellow of NCDA and received the President’s Award from NCDA in 2016, the NCDA Credentialing Commission Service Award in 2016, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maryland Career Development Association in 2010. Dr. Maze formerly developed the ACT Profile (previously called DISCOVER).
