Drawings can and often do express emotions that clients either cannot or will not express orally. Human figure drawings, family drawings, drawings of house and/ or tree can offer a means of expressing conflicts, emotions, and experiences. Such drawings can help counselors better understand their clients, bring light to their inner thoughts and feelings and help them solve problems. This workshop offers basic guidelines for school counselors to work with and safely interpret drawings to enable better understanding of self and circumstances in the life of their clients.
