Therapists and counselors who work with traumatized youth need to understand the principles of brain development, what they mean to a child’s experiences, how the brain processes fear, and why a normal process goes so wrong in the wake of trauma.  Darla takes what we know about children’s biopsychosocial development and infuses it with basic neuroscience to help bridge the gaps between theory, behavior, and the symptoms we see in our offices. Most importantly, you will add assessment and intervention skills to your therapist toolbox, ones you will be able to immediately use with your clients.
